Her life stories revisit the early days of TV in Iran, revolution and war, and rebuilding life in exile. لایقه مستندی است بر اساس زندگیِ‌ لایقه دوراندیش، اولین مجریِ و تهیه کنندهء زن در تلویزیون آبادان. داستان زندگیِ او دریچه‌ای می‌گشاید به دوران اولیهء تلویزیون در ایران، وقایعِ انقلاب و جنگ، و بازسازی زندگی در دنیایِ مهاجرت راشین فهندژ هنرمند تجسمی و فیلمسازِ ایرانی ساکن ایالات متحده است. وی در آثارِ تجربیِ-هنری‌اش، موضوعات گوناگون اجتماعی و فرهنگی را با ذهنیتی روانشناسانه و زیبایی‌شناسانه وا می‌شکافد. راشین فهند‌ژ در مدیوم‌های متنوعی که شامل فیلم داستانی و مستند، چیدمان‌‌های صوتی، تصویری و نمایشی، هنرهای ارتباطی، عکس و نقاشی می‌شوند به خلق اثر پرداخته است. در حال حاضر وی یکی از ده هنرمند برگزیدهء آرتیست رزیدنسی بوستون ایر است. او تحصیلات هنری اش را در کالج هنر و طراحی ماساچوستس و سپس در موسسهء هنری سن فرانسیسکو تا سطح فوقِ لیسانس تکمیل کرده است. وی در کنار خلق آثار هنری به تدریس در دانشگاه‌ نیز می‌پردازد. تازه ترین پروژهء او، مارجینالیا، مجموعهء‌ پیوسته‌ای از فیلم‌های مستند شاعرانه، عکس، صدا وسایر چیدمان‌هایِ هنری است که تاریخ شخصیِ اقلیت‌های به حاشیه رانده شده را ثبت و بازنمایی می‌کند.

MARGINALIA   2012 - PRESENT

A series of portrait documentary feature films, audio recordings, photos, personal belongings, and an online database. 

The title of this project, Marginalia, refers to the personal side notes added to the established content of a book. Likewise, this project intends to collect personal histories of marginalized groups to bring their invisible stories and histories to the foreground.

Each documentary film is created as an invitation into the intimate space of one character’s home and his or her life-story. Through this close connection with the viewer, a window opens up to the history that each character has lived and its influence on the events happening now. The past informs the present as these stories unfold.
